It allows the photographic documentation of the ocular fundus.
It is a non-invasive test, obtained with the use of a fundus camera, which can also be preformed without instillation of mydriatic eyedrops.
The execution of a photograph of the posterior segment is particularly indicated in the monitoring of certain diseases and in the postoperative period following vitreoretinal surgery.
